Hottolfiades are held annually. Although the specific dates may vary from year to year, in 2023 it will take place from August 25 to 27.
Activities
The event offers a variety of activities and experiences for the adventurous. Participants can enjoy the view of the hot air balloons taking off at sunrise and sunset, which are the times when the winds are calmer and the air is more stable. During the Hottolfiades, takeoffs are scheduled around 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., although these times may vary depending on weather conditions.
In addition to viewing the balloons, visitors can also choose to experience a balloon flight. This is not just a ride in a basket while being carried by the wind to discover fabulous landscapes.
The balloon flight is an adventure in which the pilot invites the participants to take part. The preparation of the aerostat, the organization of the basket, the testing of the onboard instruments, the inflation of the balloon, the safety instructions, the contact with the meteorological service, are all preliminary episodes to the flight itself, and the pilot alone cannot do everything. The same applies to landing.
